Spirituality and the Need of Religion

To understand the need of religion in society, one must understand the components a religion is made up of. Namely, Spirituality and regulation. Or, Sharia and Tariqa, if you may. Fortunately enough, these are the same components that a functional society treats as the fundamentals. On the scale of sociology however, they are often identified as social causes, and individual causes. Rules and regulations work on social scales to ensure safe perimeters that deal with extremes to stabilise a society. On individual level however, spirituality is the only thing that can reach.

It is crucial to understand however, that both these components need to work as a continuity of each other, grabbing on from where the other leaves. Segregating spirituality from regulation or vice versa, will lead to disaster in more than one prefaces. To enforce laws and regulation without any spiritual context, is not an alien concept to this world. This is perhaps what has spun the world into an endless political unrest.

The root of the problem narrows down to a lack of motive that only conveys miscommunication. To eliminate spirituality from regulation will leave behind only dictatorship from the perspective of the people. And the only motive a leader could have to establish law and order would remain to be for the sake of political power. Isolation of spirituality might seem like a much needed resort in a world of chaos. This too, however lacks motive. There is no point to the spirituality that does not solve the problems of the world. Thus both, spirituality and laws need to work in harmony.

This perfectly balanced harmony of both, spirituality and laws can only be found in religion. As it has been established that both from their own isolated perspectives seem to lack motive, religion on the other hand, provides several motives, all to tie spirituality and regulation together.
